We are currently in California visiting family. It was a 3 hour flight to get here, and because we are renting a car while we are here we decided to bring our carseats. I also knew that my two children, ages 3 and 1, would not sit still for that long on a flight without being strapped into a 5 point harness.
Our Carseats
My 3 year old rides in a Diono RXT convertible car seat. He typically sits rear facing, because he is only 34 pounds. We didn’t bring the piece that attaches to the bottom for rear facing, because I was worried we would lose it. I also feared that the seat was not compact enough rear facing on the plane. So he will spend the trip forward facing.
The Diono fit BEAUTIFULLY on the plane. It was easy to install, and especially easy to wheel down the aisle of the plane on our Maple Leaf Collapsible luggage cart that we bought from Canadian Tire for $34. In fact, my husband was so happy with this carseat, he wants to buy another one.
That brings me to our Britax Boulevard. Interestingly, this is our favourite carseat at home. It is super easy to install in our vehicles and very easy to adjust as our Littlest grows. Unfortunately, it’s a beast to travel with. It didn’t fit down the aisle of the plane so had to be carried over my husband’s head to our seat. Good thing is it fit easily on the plan seat both forward and rear facing. We installed it rear facing easily without a belt extender needed.
I will update more when we get home!
