I can’t believe the thought of giving birth to four babies at once! My girl Lindsay over at Maman Loup’s Den shares with us her blog post introducing The Simms Family and their Quadruplets born October 30 in Calgary Alberta. Here’s her post!
The following is a guest post from Maman Loup’s Den, written by Lindsay Gallimore and shown here on The Mama Knows with permission.
Remember when you were all like “Wow! Look at Maman Loup go! She has twins and two bigger kids! She’s a super mom!”
Well, first of all, thanks for that! I would be lying if I said I didn’t appreciate all my wonderful readers showering me with praise!
But now I would like to announce that twins AIN’T NO THANG. You know what is? QUAD.DRU.PLETS. Four babies. DOUBLE WHAT CAME OUT OF MY BELLY. Oh, plus a big sister. So yes, that’s five under 3 years old.
Fort McMurray just welcomed its very first set of quads, born on October 30 right here in Calgary! Meet the Simms quadruplets—Heidi, Julia, Carter and Nate—the new additions to the former trio formed by parents Annie and Darrell and daughter Payton.
I have no actual connection to this family, in fact, until yesterday I had them confused with ANOTHER family of quadruplets also born in Calgary in October to a family with a toddler: shout out to the Hainsworth family! Through the magic of Facebook and my passion for car seats and multiples, I wound up in contact with Annie and Darrell’s sister-in-law Meaghan. We very quickly discovered a shared passion for organization and an almost destructive tendency to micromanage and plan (gooooo Type A personalities!), so here I am, using my social media reach for good, attempting to rally my fans and sponsors around the Simms family.
I know that eight months in, my husband and I are still reeling from the budget adjustment of having two babies instead of the third we intended on, so I struggle to even wrap my brain around what it must be like for a family that tried for a second baby but got four. Every day since I “met” this family online, I’ve been mentally multiplying what I need for my babies by two. It’s … astounding, and also makes my day-to-day seem like a cakewalk!
I’m looking forward to helping the Simms with their car seats when they’re ready to head back to Fort Mac in the new year, and in the meantime, I wanted to introduce this septet to my readers and my blog sponsors and gather the support of the wider parenting community around them.
You can donate to the YMMQuadruplet’s GoFundMe account, or just share their story on your social media and maybe someone in your extended network has a way to help out!
Find all the details of the quadruplet’s birth as well as updates on their progress as narrated by Darrell over on their Facebook page. I love reading his anecdotes: he should start writing for my blog! (In all his spare time!)
If you’re a business with a desire to help out the YMMQuadruplets, know that I’ll make it even more worth your while by sharing your good deed with my Maman Loup audience! Don’t hesitate to reach out via my Facebook page or at mamanloupsden@gmail.com.
Thank you to Valco Baby Canada who are sending the Simms two Tri Mode X Duo strollers and a toddler seat!
