Wool Diaper Covers are a popular overnight saviour, but these badboys aren’t just for nighttime! We use our Wool Covers during the day too!

The soft, breathability that wool covers provide makes them a favourite for me. We use our daytime wool covers over Bamboo Flats during the day. I can use the same two covers alternating all day and they only need to be handwashed and lanolized every 2 weeks.

But aren’t they too bulky for clothes?

Some of them certainly are, but not these awesome Sloomb Underwolies! These are specifically designed for daytime wool use. They won’t last hours and hours, though. Frequent changes aren’t a deterrent for me as I don’t typically leave diapers on more than 1.5-2 hours at a time during the day so these underwoolies are a great option for me. We use a thicker Sloomb Wool Cover for night time.

What’s Underneath?

It’s important to remember that all Wool Covers are only as good as their absobency underneath and daytime wool is no different. Wool can definitley hold wetness, but isn’t designed to be the diaper itself.

Our osocozy Bamboo Flats are perfect and affordable daytime diapers. When I fold them in Origami Fold (more absorbency up front) I get a trim, 1.5 hour solution. I remember to jelly roll the leg areas for poop protection. You don’t get the same tight legs with a wool cover, so your diaper has to do the work. Fitteds and Prefolds also work great. Our Motherease Sandy’s Bamboo Fitteds are another daytime favourite.

For naptime or car rides, I either switch to a PUL diaper or add an AMP Hemp Booster to my flats under my wool.
